Widely regarded as one of the most gay-friendly countries in the world, being the fourth country to legalise gay marriage and with thriving LGBT communities in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver, it comes as no surprise that Canada has made some of the most exciting queer cinema in the world, and continues to contribute wonderful features and shorts to the BFI Flare: London LGBT Film Festival.
